Booking choice: The Trevi and Pantheon walk, from $19 per person. Check dates Tour details
A walk through the centro storico almost always passes the Pantheon. It sits between Piazza Navona and the Trevi Fountain, and guides love the story of the dome. But the listings are clear when you read the small print: the cheap two-hour walk, the sunset walk and the food tour all say the entry is not included.
None of them hides it. You just have to look at the itinerary line that says admission: no.
The quick answer
The Trevi and Pantheon walk ($19), the sunset walk ($52) and the food and wine tour ($101) all stop outside the Pantheon; none includes entry. To go inside, book a Pantheon ticket or tour separately: the $10 audio ticket or the $14 guided visit fits before or after a walk. Every Pantheon-only tour on this site goes in.

Do Rome walking tours go inside the Pantheon?
Most don't. The three walking tours on this site stop on Piazza della Rotonda for about 20 to 30 minutes and say so in their listings.
From the listings, checked in October 2026:
| Tour | From | Length | Pantheon | Also covers |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Trevi and Pantheon walk | $19 | 2 hours | Outside, 20 min; entry excluded | Piazza Venezia, Trajan's Forum, Trevi, Galleria Sciarra, Sant'Ignazio, Navona |
| Rome at sunset | $52 | 2 hours | Outside, 20 min; admission no | Navona, Trevi, Spanish Steps |
| Food and wine tour | $101 | 4 hours | Outside, 30 min; listing says no visit inside | Campo de' Fiori, Navona, Sant'Eustachio, Trevi |
| Pantheon Elite Guided Tour | $48 | 1 hour | Inside, about 40 min | Piazza della Rotonda |
| Guided tour with reserved entry | $14 | 45 min | Inside, 30 min | Piazza della Minerva |
Want the inside too? A live guide and reserved entry for $14, 45 minutes from Bernini's elephant.

All eight Pantheon tours and tickets: the audio and hosted tickets, the Neptune visit, and the Elite, Crown, semi-private, archaeologist and private tours.
They range from $10 to $108 and from 30 to 50 minutes inside. The guided tour or audio guide page compares them. The difference from a walking tour is simple: they include the €7 entry, a timed slot, and someone checking your name at the door.

What does the Trevi and Pantheon walking tour cover?
Two hours and seven stops from Piazza d'Aracoeli to Piazza Navona, for $19. The Pantheon is a 20-minute stop outside.
The Republic Experiences walk meets under the pine trees on Piazza d'Aracoeli; look for a yellow Carpe Diem Tours flag. Then Piazza Venezia, Trajan's Forum, the Trevi Fountain, the Art Nouveau courtyard of Galleria Sciarra, Sant'Ignazio with its painted fake dome, the Pantheon square and Piazza Navona. Groups top out at 15. It rates 4.9, and it is honest about the entry: "Access to the Pantheon" is listed under not included.
It isn't wheelchair accessible and isn't recommended for travellers with back problems or foot injuries.

Seven stops in two hours for $19, from Piazza Venezia to Navona. The Pantheon is seen from the square.
Explore the Trevi and Pantheon walk Tour detailsIs the sunset walk worth it if you don't go inside?
Yes, if you want Rome's squares in the evening light. Treat it as a walk past the Pantheon, not a visit.
The sunset walk starts at the fountain on Piazza di San Simeone, a pedestrian street taxis can't reach, then takes in Navona, the Pantheon square, Trevi and the Spanish Steps in two hours, in groups of 14 or fewer. The listing marks the Pantheon stop as no admission, and by the time the light turns gold the last entry at 18:30 has often passed anyway.
Does the food tour go inside the Pantheon?
No. The listing says it plainly: this tour does not include the visit to the inside of the Pantheon.
The four-hour food and wine tour starts at the Piazza Farnese fountain (look for the FOOD TOUR sign) and works through Campo de' Fiori, Navona, Sant'Eustachio, the Pantheon square and Trevi, with tastings, wine, beer and lunch. It can't do gluten-free, dairy-free or vegan, and on Sundays only a few market stands open. Since you'll pass a church on the way, it asks for shoulders and knees covered.

How do you combine a walking tour with going inside?
Book the walk and a separate Pantheon slot on the same day. A 9:00 entry before a morning walk, or a slot after the walk ends near Navona, both work.
- Morning: take the $10 audio ticket or the $14 guided visit at 9:00, when the rotunda is quietest, then join a walk later.
- Afternoon: the two-hour walk ends on Piazza Navona, about five minutes from the Pantheon. Book a slot an hour after the walk's finish to allow for delays.
- Evening walk: go inside earlier the same day; entry ends at 18:30.
- Saturday: the last useful slot is around 16:00 because of the 17:00 Mass.
Timed entry with a phone audio guide, from $10: easy to slot around a walk.
Check dates for the ticket with audio guideHow far is the Pantheon from the Trevi Fountain and Piazza Navona?
About ten minutes on foot to Trevi and five to Navona. Piazza della Minerva, with Bernini's elephant, is right behind the Pantheon.
Trevi now has its own fee: since 2 February 2026, getting down to the basin costs €2 for non-residents, from 9:00 (11:30 on Mondays and Fridays) to 22:00, per RomeWise. The piazza above stays free. The Pantheon's chapter sells a "Cuore di Roma" pack at €34 with Pantheon access and Trevi perimeter entry on pantheonroma.com.
Behind the Pantheon is the Basilica of Neptune, a Roman hall you can only enter on a tour such as the Gyde Tours visit.

Is it worth going inside if you've seen the Pantheon from the square?
Yes. The portico is impressive, but the rotunda is the point. For €7 it's a bargain.
From the piazza you see columns and an inscription. Inside you stand under a 43-metre concrete dome with a hole at the top, the sky moving through it. Twenty minutes is enough, and the oculus guide tells you where to look.

The inside, with a licensed guide: about 40 minutes under the dome, then 15 on the square.
