Vatican Tour Company · Piazza della Rotonda
A licensed guide meets you on Piazza della Rotonda, takes you in with a reserved entry and spends about 40 minutes with you under the dome, then 15 more out on the square. Pick it when you want the full story of the building in one hour, told by someone who knows where to stand.

This is the most-reviewed Pantheon tour on Viator, run by Vatican Tour Company. You meet the guide outside the Antica Salumeria deli at Piazza della Rotonda 2/4, right across from the portico, at least 15 minutes before your slot. The entrance ticket is part of the price. The listing splits the hour into about 40 minutes inside and 15 on the square in front, where the guide can point out the inscription, the columns and the obelisk fountain.
Inside, the talk covers what you'd expect and a bit more: Agrippa's name on the front and Hadrian's building behind it, the 43.3-metre concrete dome, the open oculus of about 9 metres, the conversion to a church in 609 and the tombs of Raphael and two Italian kings. Guests keep mentioning one extra. Many guides help with photos, including the shot of the beam of light from the oculus, and one guest's guide brought pictures of the 1870 flood inside the building.
Two honest caveats. The Pantheon ticket alone is €7 since 1 July 2026 and free for under-18s, so most of the $48 pays for the guide and the reserved slot. And a guided hour inside a single room can feel short to some: one 4-star guest timed it at 45 minutes. If you want the same building for less money, the 45-minute Crown Tours visit costs $14.
Stand outside the deli at Piazza della Rotonda 2/4, facing the Pantheon. The piazza gets packed, so keep your booking open on your phone.
Every guest needs a passport or ID card (a copy is accepted, per the listing). Then you go in with the group's reserved slot.
The guide walks you round the rotunda: the dome and the oculus, the marble floor, the chapels and the tombs of Raphael and the Savoy kings.
Back out on the square for the portico, the inscription and the fountain, and a chance to ask questions.
You're in the centre of Rome: Piazza della Minerva and its elephant are two minutes away, Piazza Navona about five.
★★★★★We have been to the Pantheon several times and never hired a guide - that was a mistake. She enhanced our experience tremendously.
★★★★★Great one hour tour. Job, our Guide, was very entertaining, helpful, and informative! Assisted with pano photos and the “halo ring” photo from the sunlight through the dome opening.
★★★★★We met at the specified location and because the booking fee including our tickets, we were able to get in quickly without waiting in line. [...] Her tour even taught us how to read some of the Vatican symbols that appear both inside and outside the Pantheon.
★★★★★Really enjoyed the visit...especially at the end with the ethereal drizzle coming through the ceiling with the first rain in Rome for some time, proving the dome top is open and not covered in glass.

About 40 minutes, according to the itinerary, followed by about 15 minutes on Piazza della Rotonda outside. The whole tour takes one hour.
Outside the Antica Salumeria at Piazza della Rotonda 2/4, the deli facing the Pantheon. Arrive at least 15 minutes early: the listing asks for it, and the square is busy.
Yes. The Pantheon entrance is included. The official ticket costs €7 since July 2026 and is free for under-18s, so most of the price pays for the guide and the reserved slot.
The listing sells child tickets from 6 and youth tickets from 13, and infants up to 5 go along. One family wrote that the guide kept their 5 and 7 year olds interested. Under-18s enter the Pantheon free, so the child price covers the guide.
