Kirba Tours · Piazza Capranica

The Pantheon in a group of ten

Kirba Tours caps this one at 10 guests: you meet on Piazza Capranica, pass the fountain on the way in and spend 50 minutes inside with a licensed guide. Guests single out guides who carry a tablet of pictures and drawings, and a group small enough to ask all your questions.

Semi-Private Pantheon Tour with Entry

About this experience

Kirba Tours meets you on Piazza Capranica, a small square a couple of minutes from the Pantheon, 10 minutes before the start. Look for the Kirba Tours sign or flag. From there the group walks past the Pantheon fountain and goes straight in on a pre-booked ticket.

The visit itself is 50 minutes with an official guide, and the group never tops 10. With six or more you get headsets. Reviews keep naming the same handful of guides, and the same habit: they bring a tablet with photos and slides, so you can see how the dome was built and what the sunlight does through the year. One guest booked 50 minutes and got 80. Another, on a 6 p.m. tour, had 10 crowd-free minutes as the building closed.

The admin is strict. Kirba needs the full name (as on the ID) and age of every person at booking, and ID is mandatory for adults and children. No-shows and late arrivals are not refunded, and one guest found the group had started without them. At $48 it costs the same as the Elite Guided Tour, with half the group size.

  • 10 guests at most, often fewer

What guests say

★★★★★

He effectively shows you how ingenious the builders were and their attention to detail for the weight of the dome and the position of the sunlight through the dome throughout the year.

He pointed up at the oculus, paused, and said, "Rain falls in… look down." Barely visible drains in the marble floor. Two thousand years old.

Would definitely recommend going for the 6pm tour as it’s a bit cooler, and by the end of the tour the pantheon was closing so we had 10 minutes at the end to take photos with no crowds!

This one room building is an incredible history lesson and our guide Nicola (Nik) was very knowledgeable. He had so many facts big and small in his head [...]

Tips before you book

  • Enter names exactly as they appear on each passport or ID card, and add every age. The listing says incomplete details can cost you entry.
  • Children need ID too. This listing is the strictest on the site about it.
  • Be at Piazza Capranica 10 minutes early. A 1-star guest arrived 10 minutes before the start and found the group already gone.
  • Late slots are cooler and quieter. The Pantheon's last entry is 18:30 and it closes at 19:00.
  • Cover shoulders and knees. It's a church.
